Course Philosophy

Sandpiper Bay’s course philosophy begins with the thoughtful consideration of course architect Dan Maples and continues with our dedication to having well-maintained turf conditions today. The conversion of all 27 greens to MiniVerde bermuda has elevated the quality of the course to an exceptional level. It is because of this commitment to the game that Sandpiper Bay is the 2010 Myrtle Beach Area Golf Course of the Year.

The Ownership and Management of Sandpiper Bay are passionate about the maintenance of their golf facility. In order to maintain the quality conditions that they have become known for, the Maintenance Department must do periodic procedures such as aerification, topdressing, and overseeding to maintain healthy turf and to provide a great playing surface year round. These scheduled procedures are common practices for all high quality golf courses.

Approximate dates for our procedures are listed to the side. These dates are estimated as they must be flexible to accommodate weather conditions and Club schedules. With three 9-hole courses, we have the ability to further adjust these schedules. Please review the Calendar section for exact dates and specific course maintenance schedules.
